The Programme

This course looks at the advanced features and functions within Excel, including organising and manipulating data, understanding functions, data analysis tools, pivot tables and macros. Prior knowledge of using Excel is required.

Using Data Validation

Understanding Functions covers:
Function Structure
Creating Logical Statements (IF, AND OR)
TEXT Functions (TEXT, LEFT, RIGHT, CONCATENATE)
DATE Functions (WEEKDAY, MONTH)
FINANCIAL Functions (PMT)
Customised Cell Formatting
Dates
Time

Importing & Linking with Excel covers:
Importing Data
Managing Links

Data Analysis Tools covers:
Using Goal Seek
Creating and Editing Scenarios

Working with Lookup Tables covers:
Using Lookup Functions (HLOOKUP, VLOOKUP)

Working with PivotTables covers:
Creating and Using PivotTables
Editing PivotTables
Formatting in Pivot Tables

Working with Graphics and Charts covers:
Advanced Formatting of Charts and Graphs

Costs

The course costs £95 (including refreshments and lunch).

Tuesday 5 April 2011 at the School of Management, Barnstaple; Tuesday 19 April 2011 at Tiverton Campus.
