Automotive Technician Accreditation (ATA) Senior Panel Technician
The Programme
The ATA is a national voluntary scheme which tests the current competence of individuals working in the retail motor industry, who are committed to an ethical code of conduct.
Technician Pre-requisites
To be eligible to take the assessment, a panel technician must have a minimum level of industry experience in an appropriate role as follows:
- Two years for Panel Technicians
- Five years for Senior Panel Technicians
or
- Hold a relevant NQF qualification at the same level and have a minimum of two years post qualification experience in an appropriate role.
ATA is based on National Occupational Standards to ensure that it meets the skills requirements of the retail motor industry.
To achieve accreditation, technicians must pass a series of practical assessments and an online knowledge test at an ATA Approved Assessment Centre.
For Panel Technicians there are two competency levels:
- Panel Technician
- Senior Panel Technician
Costs
£1,050 plus registration fee of £55.
NB: Accommodation may also be required and is not included in the cost. Additional cost may be charged if assessment is not passed on first attempt.
Dates
Flexible enrolment dates available throughout the year.
Length of Study
Three days.
