The Programme
This course will start with the basics of engine management and an overview of common systems. A range of input devices will be covered such as knock sensors, mass air flow and MAP sensors.
This course will look at knock sensors, mass air flow, MAP (digital and analogue), engine speed and position (hall effect, magnetic), HEGO and temperature. Output devices such as fuel pumps, purge valves, injectors, ignition coils and stepper motors will also be covered.
Common waveforms and output patterns from the range of sensors will be investigated stating common faults associated with these sensors. Vehicles will be used to demonstrate accessing of vehicle fault codes related to OBD II. Simple test will be used to confirm faults associated with sensors.
