Energy Efficiency for Domestic Heating

The Programme

This course is designed for plumbers, gas and oil fitters and anyone involved in the plumbing and heating sector and the installation of condensing boilers and domestic central heating systems. It is a pre-requisite for some renewable energy courses.

The qualification and content is connected with the introduction of Part L within the Building Regulations and on completion, candidates will be able to self certify their work under the Government Self Certification Scheme.

The award is made up of a short training programme centred around underpinning knowledge and is assessed by a multiple choice question paper.

The Energy Efficiency for Domestic Heating qualification has been developed to prepare heating installers for the change in building regulations and to encourage them to have a positive attitude to high efficiency products based around a sound knowledge and product confidence. The Building Regulations 2001 Part L1 are broad based regulations covering the building and 'controlled services' equipment in new and existing domestic properties.
