Road Passenger Vehicle Driving NVQ 2
The Programme
This course allows current drivers to develop their knowledge of licensing and regulatory requirements. It provides a job related qualification and assessment related to the taxi and private hire industry.
The course is suitable for the following professions:
Community transport driver
Hackney carriage and private hire driver
Chauffeur
Taxi driver
Candidates are expected to be working in one of the above areas. On commencing this qualification candidates must hold, or be eligible to hold, all required licences, as driving a vehicle is an essential requirement of this NVQ.
All candidates will have to complete the following mandatory units and chose two optional units that are relevant to their work.
Ensure the health and safety in your work environment in the road passenger transport industry
Drive community transport, chauffeured, taxi or private hire vehicles safely and efficiently
Provide professional customer service in the taxi and private hire vehicle industry
Deal effectively with difficult passengers
Deal with emergencies and incidents during a journey transporting passengers
Provide a transport service in the taxi and private hire vehicle industries for passengers requiring assistance
Achieve effective working relationships with colleagues
Transport children and young persons by taxi or private hire
Candidates will also study two optional units.
The qualification will be assessed by the compilation of a portfolio, workplace assessment and under pinning knowledge questions.

Length of Study
14 to 16 weeks depending on the individual learner.
