Motor Vehicle Related Subjects - Light Vehicle, Motorcycles, HGV, MET, Body Repair & Refinishing NVQ

The Programme

These courses are ideal for technicians who want to gain a qualification that is relevant to their vocation. Candidates will be assessed in the workplace and will gather evidence to complete a portfolio.

Depending on experience and time, candidates can complete the course in one year. Less experienced technicians may take up to two years.

The NVQ allows students to gain evidence whilst in the workplace and learn on the job. Technicians will be required to gather evidence in a portfolio that meets the requirements of the national standards. During the course technicians will be visited by an assessor who will discuss their progress, set targets and answer any questions they have. Access to online learning will allow students to study whilst away from college and at a time that suits them. Assessment will take place in three forms, observations of technicians carrying out a task, written assessment and by online assessment.
