Automotive Technician Accreditation (ATA) Service Maintenance Technician
The Programme
The ATA is a national voluntary scheme which tests the current competence of individuals working in the retail motor industry, who are committed to an ethical code of conduct.
Assessment is carried out in one day and technicians will be set five main tasks that are assessed practically. One online assessment will also be completed during the day.
With the increasing complexity and sophistication of vehicles and a shortage of skilled individuals, there has never been a greater need for competent technicians.
To be eligible for ATA assessment, technicians must possess a minimum level of industry experience, in an appropriate role, as follows:
- Two years for Service Maintenance Technician
or
- Hold a relevant national qualification as well as a minimum of one year's post qualification experience in an appropriate role.
Service Maintenance Technician - Level 2 qualification required.
Costs
£195 plus registration fee of £55.
NB: Additional cost may be charged if assessment is not passed on the first attempt.
Dates
Flexible enrolment dates available throughout the year.

One day.
