The Programme
This course is for 16 to 18 year old learners. It is a part time, flexible course and offers students the opportunity to study from entry level to Level 2.
Each learner has an individual timetable according to their need, ability and previous commitment as well as a personal mentor to support them during their time on the programme. Personalised Learning Programmes lay the foundation for progression to independent living, supported employment, employment, apprenticeships and further training.
The Programme Content
This course provides learners with:
- Tutorial and personal development sessions
- Individual mentoring
- Functional Skills
- National Open College Network (NOCN) qualifications
- Taster sessions throughout Petroc such as Functional Skills, Outdoor Pursuits, Vocational Tasters and Personal Development
- Work Placement
- Liaison and advocacy
- Residentials
Entry Requirements
There are no formal qualification requirements.

Barnstaple Campus
Progression
Students can progress to other college courses such as LEAP 2/3 or other vocational areas.
Length of Study
Individually tailored courses so study length will vary.
Academic Year
This course starts in the 2012 / 2013 academic year.
It’s really good because you get to go on residentials and you get to experience catering. You get to do painting, decorating and woodwork.
