The Programme Content
You will cover work on units from a range of social care topics. Personal skill units include; Personal Effectiveness, Social Responsibility at Work and Financial Management. Optional units will cover looking after children. You will have opportunities to do work placements in a variety of settings, to provide practical and professional experience.

There are no specific entry requirements.
Costs
You will be expected to pay for a current Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check costing £44 and buy relevant books and stationery.

Progression
This course normally leads to a Level 2 First Diploma in Health and Social Care or Childcare and Education. It can also enable you to gain employment as an assistant in a care or childcare setting and can give you the opportunity to do an apprenticeship. The work experience element of the course will help you decide if this is the career path for you.
