Painting and Decorating Diploma - Barnstaple

The Programme
This is a first stage course for those interested in gaining employment in the painting and decorating industry. You will attend the painting and decorating workshop at the Barnstaple campus which is fully equipped to support a wide range of practical activities and has separate classroom facilities.
The Programme Content
Units covered in this programme include the following:
Carry out safe working practises
Information, quantities and communicating with others
Building methods and construction technology
Erect and dismantle access equipment
Prepare surfaces
Apply paint systems by brush
Apply foundation and plain papers
Produce specialist decorative finishes
Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements.
Costs
You will need to supply your own white overalls and safety boots*.

Barnstaple Campus
Progression
You will be able to use this qualification to help you gain employment and progress on to the Level 2 course in Decorative Occupations. Alternatively, you can continue to study on the Level 2 Diploma in Painting and Decorating.
Length of Study
One year.
Academic Year
This course starts in the 2012 / 2013 academic year.
