The Programme
The course is an entry level programme; suitable for any person setting out on a career in Plumbing and building services engineering.
The Programme Content
We will cover general health and safety, science (properties of water, force, pressure, heat transfer and corrosion), understand and demonstrate fundamental refrigeration and air conditioning, electrical installation, plumbing, heating and ventilating operations, construction drawing, practical assessment portfolio
and employability skills.
Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements but a good understanding of Maths and English will be of benefit.
Costs
Students will need to purchase safety clothing, eg boots and overalls. There may be a number of trips during the year that may incur a cost*.

Progression
Towards the end of the course your personal tutor will discuss possible progression routes with you. These will include a Level 2 progression and if employment is secured in the plumbing industry then an NVQ or apprenticeship can also be an option.

One year.
Academic Year
This course starts in the 2012 / 2013 academic year.
