Sport, Active Leisure and Public Services BTEC -
Course code: FTB018
The Programme
This course consists of three different awards. Firstly learners will study for the BTEC Level 1 Certificate in Sport and Active Leisure. Upon successful completion of this they will then study for the BTEC Level 1 Award in Public Services. Throughout the course learners will also study units for the BTEC Level 1 Award in Personal and Social Development and Functional Skills in numeracy, literacy and IT.
The Programme Content
All units are assessed via a range of different coursework assignments that are designed to provide learners with the skills and confidence that will assist when finding a job or studying for a Level 2 qualification.
Entry Requirements
There are no specific academic entry requirements for this course. Learners' suitability will be determined at interview. Successful students show high enthusiasm and commitment.
Costs
Learners will be required to provide their own stationery and purchase a School of Health and Fitness polo shirt and tracksuit trousers. We will also ask learners to make a contribution towards any minibus/transport fees*.
Progression
It is anticipated that learners will develop the knowledge and confidence to progress on to a Level 2 qualification in either Sport or Public Services. However, those not wishing to progress on to Level 2 can use the qualification to help them gain entry level employment within the local leisure industry or uniformed public services.
