Bricklaying Diploma - Tiverton

The Programme
This course has been designed to provide basic bricklaying skills and is ideal for those seeking employment in the construction industry. The qualification is aimed at providing an introduction to bricklaying crafts and specifically provides an understanding of the craft tasks.
The Programme Content
Seven units including Health and Safety. All units to be assessed for knowledge by Q&A on our Virtual Learning Environment system. Synoptic practical assessments will take place to check that you have acquired the strict criteria in practical activities.
Functional skills in English, Maths and ICT are included in the programme content.
Entry Requirements
The programme is suitable for learners who have no previous experience or knowledge of bricklaying. Candidates will be selected by interview. There is a six week probation period starting in September.
Costs
There will be costs of approximately £30 for materials and course book.

Tiverton Campus
Progression
The course can lead into employment in the construction industry or possible progression to a full time Level 2 Diploma or NVQ Diploma Level 2. You must be employed to enrol on the NVQ Diploma Level 2.
Length of Study
One year.
Academic Year
This course starts in the 2012 / 2013 academic year.
