The Programme
If you enjoy working with your hands and would prefer a workshop environment then this is the course for you.
The course may cover the following areas; Health and Safety, Information, Quantities and Communicating, Building Methods and Construction Technology. You may also have the opportunity to obtain further qualifications including a Health and Safety Test, CSCS card or a Technical drawing certificate.
The Programme Content
Six units including Health and Safety. All units to be assessed for knowledge by Q&A on our Virtual Learning Environment system. Synoptic practical assessments will take place to check that you have acquired the strict criteria in practical activities.
Functional skills in English, Maths and ICT are included in the programme content.
Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements but a good understanding of Maths and English will be of benefit. Demonstration of reliability, motivation and a keen interest will all be considered.
Costs
There will be costs of approximately £30 for materials and course book.

Tiverton Campus
Progression
The course can lead into employment in the construction industry or possible progression to a full time Level 2 Diploma or NVQ Diploma Level 2. You must be employed to enrol on the NVQ Diploma Level 2.
Length of Study
One year.
Academic Year
This course starts in the 2012 / 2013 academic year.
