Art and Design BTEC Diploma
Level 2

Course code: FTT014

The Programme

A practical course exploring and developing skills in a range of art and design activities. You will also develop specialist work and prepare a portfolio of work for progression. The programme consists of six units and is equivalent to four GCSEs at grade C and above. All students will do four core units that explore drawing, 2D and 3D materials and techniques, developing ideas and producing finished outcomes. You will also complete two more units selected from a range of specialist art and design units.

The Programme Content

Entry Requirements

Four GCSEs at grade E or above including an Art and Design related GCSE. You will be required to bring a portfolio of work to your interview.

Costs

There will be a studio fee of £90 for the year. In addition you will need to buy some basic equipment at the beginning of the course.

Progression

Most students will choose to progress to the National Diploma in Art and Design at Petroc.
