Art and Design BTEC Diploma - Barnstaple

The Programme
This is a practical course exploring and developing skills in a range of art and design activities. You will also develop specialist work and prepare a portfolio of work for progression.
The Programme Content
The programme consists of six units and is the equivalent to four GCSEs at grade A-C. All students will do four core units that explore drawing, 2D and 3D materials and techniques, developing ideas and producing finished outcomes. You will also complete two more units selected from a range of specialist art and design units.
Entry Requirements
Four GCSEs at grade E or above including an Art and Design related subject. You will be required to bring a portfolio of work to your interview.
Costs
There will be a studio fee of £90 for the year. In addition, you will need to buy some basic equipment at the beginning of the course.

Progression
Most students will choose to progress to the National Diploma in Art and Design at Petroc.
Length of Study
One year.
Academic Year
This course starts in the 2012 / 2013 academic year.

I did a little each night which worked best for me. However busy your life is, if you put aside a bit of time each day you can do it.
