The Programme
A high percentage of this course is dedicated towards development of practical skills, which take place in the College's well equipped salon. The College welcomes the public as paying clients to allow students to carry out formalised assessments to meet required standards. A strong emphasis is placed on theoretical knowledge to support practical application, with coursework also forming a major part of the assessment.
The Programme Content
You will train using Professional Skin Care Products and undertake a programme of study that includes both practical and theory elements. There is an expectation of 12-15 hours per week self directed study outside of class time to enable students to complete their theory assignments.
Entry Requirements
Four GCSEs at grade D or above (including Science and English), English at grade C (recommended), or successful completion of Beauty Therapy Level 1 (at merit and distinction level) with an average of above 85% attendance and passes in all relevant functional skills.
Costs
There will be approximate costs of £300 for uniform, books and kits. £50 salon fee. Additional courses and trips offered by the College will be payable by each student.

Progression
Students can progress onto the Level 3 VRQ in Beauty Therapy Techniques if they have achieved all units at either merit or distinction grade have and have achieved a minimum of 85% attendance by the end of the Level 2 course. Achievement of Level 2 is essential before progressing to Level 3 to meet commercial standards.
