The Programme

This is a practical, work related course made up of seven units, all assessed through coursework assignments. The units may include communicating in the IT industry, working in the IT industry, computer systems, setting up an IT network, website development, spreadsheet modelling and installing hardware components.

Entry Requirements

Five GCSEs at grade E or above preferably including Maths and English. This requirement can be relaxed in certain circumstances, which will be discussed with you at interview.

Costs

This course can be completed without a home computer, but having one would be very useful. A memory stick will allow you to transport your work to and from home. You will not be expected to buy any text books.

Progression

The qualification provides a good grounding to go on to a more advanced vocational course in ICT or as an all round ICT foundation that can be applied in other disciplines. It also prepares students for employment in junior or trainee roles using ICT in office environments.
