The Programme
This course covers the technical needs for today's motorcycle repair industry, including the diagnosis of non-complex system faults. It provides essential knowledge for service technicians working on motorcycles in all types of garages and dealerships.
The Programme Content
This qualification consists of six Mandatory Units, nine mandatory specialist units and four optional units. All units are either knowledge (K) or skills (S) units. The K or S units are combined to form a topic ‘set'. In order to pass the qualification, learners must achieve a minimum of 70 credits from the following groups:
Group A: 29 credits from the six mandatory units.
Group B: 37 credits from the mandatory specialist units.
Group C: A minimum of four credits from one ‘set'.
A minimum of 70 credits must be achieved at Level 2 or above.
Entry Requirements
Four GCSEs at grade E and above including Maths, English and a Science or technology subject would be advantageous. Successful completion of the Level 1 motorcycle course.

You will be required to purchase safety clothing.

Tiverton Campus
Progression
Students who complete this course can progress to an Apprenticeship programme. Once employed they will be encouraged to complete the VCQ Level 2 as required.
Length of Study
One year.
Academic Year
This course starts in the 2012 / 2013 academic year.
