Performing Engineering Operations (Electrical) NVQ Diploma - Barnstaple

The Programme
The course content is electrical engineering biased for those who would like to work in the electrical industry but do not have an apprenticeship. The qualification is gained through the production of an NVQ portfolio which is workshop based. Included in the programme will be a technical drawing module and three Functional Skills in Mathematics, English and IT. This course of study is not an electrical apprenticeship.
Entry Requirements
Four GSCEs at grade E or above including English, Maths and a Science, however, access may be gained through an interview.
Costs
You will be required to purchase safety footwear*.

Progression
Successful learners will be able to progress onto the EAL Technical Certificate or progress into the workplace with further training.

One year.

This course starts in the 2012 / 2013 academic year.
Further Information
To follow a career in engineering I needed A Levels in both maths and physics which I studied at college. My tutors' support and encouragement throughout my time at college was invaluable in allowing me to achieving my long term goals in education and I am now starting at Airbus in Filton as a Graduate.
