The Programme

This course is equivalent to an A Level incorporating architecture, surveying, health and safety, computer aided design (CAD), construction and the built environment, technology and services and management. Time will be spent investigating the dynamic role of construction and will provide an ideal vehicle either for further/higher education or a career in construction.

The Programme Content

Visits to local construction sites are included where possible. Students will also study a number of A Level courses alongside the national award.

Entry Requirements

Five GCSEs at grade C or above, which must include Maths, English and a science. All prospective candidates will be interviewed as part of the entry process. Do not be put off if your grades are not what they should be, or if you have been out of education for a while, we will take each case on its own merits. You may have other valuable qualities, such as experience, that we can take into account.

Progression

This is an ideal vehicle for progression into employment or higher education. Past students have gone on to Oxford to study civil engineering and many other universities to study architecture, building surveying, construction management and coastal engineering to name but a few. In addition, some have moved into employment and continued their studies part time.
