Drama and Theatre Studies A Level - Tiverton

The Programme
This course gives you creative opportunities to experience theatre as a performer, designer and audience member; allowing freedom of expression with drama as an art form whilst also acknowledging influential practitioners and the work of professional theatre companies. The focus is on practical performance skills, the art of production, the role of director and the study of play texts throughout the history of theatre. The course will provide a lifelong appreciation of live theatre.
Entry Requirements
Five GCSEs at grade C or above. It is preferred that you have GCSE English Language/Literature at grade C or above.
Costs
There will be a charge of approximately £100 for theatre trips, visits and practical workshops with professional actors theatre companies*.

Progression
This course can lead to higher education opportunities in drama, theatre studies and performing arts. This course also complements a range of subjects and is extremely useful in building confidence and improving presentation skills in a wide range of careers.
Length of Study
AS Level one year, A Level two years.
Academic Year
This course starts in the 2012 / 2013 academic year.
Further Information
To follow a career in engineering I needed A Levels in both maths and physics which I studied at college. My tutors' support and encouragement throughout my time at college was invaluable in allowing me to achieving my long term goals in education and I am now starting at Airbus in Filton as a Graduate.
