Government and Politics A Level - Barnstaple
Apply for this courseCourse code: FTB072
The Programme
The course will give students a foundation of political knowledge with an emphasis on the contemporary politics and current affairs. Students will explore the debate as to 'who gets what' in British society. There will also be an international dimension to the study of politics as we compare and contrast UK politics with other systems of government. Key ideas such as freedom, justice and equality will be evaluated as we try to make sense as to how they are applied in reality.
The Programme Content
The programme content includes people and politics; governing the UK; key themes in political analysis and extended political themes. The modules will complement anyone who is thinking about studying law, history and critical thinking. Students will be expected to take a keen interest in current affairs and keep abreast of what is going on in the world around them. So if you like a good discussion and a course that will help you think and critically evaluate issues as well as challenging and stretching your imagination then this is the course for you.
Learners will get a great deal out of the course and it should equip them for general knowledge questions asked at university interviews.
