Photography A Level
Level 3
Course code: FTT053
The Programme
Work in photography must form a means of personal enquiry and expression, in which the selection and manipulation of images produce different meanings. On the course, emphasis is placed on a creative approach which goes beyond mere observation and recording and students will develop practical photographic skills. The course includes using 35mm and digital SLR cameras, darkroom printing, digital manipulation, image composition and an introduction to the more critical analysis of images. You will also explore the expressive potential of photography. Learners are encouraged to explore a wide range of materials and techniques based on a given theme. Learners will be given the option to produce a range of outcomes. Through workshops and self directed exploratory studies learners will gain the skills needed to develop their own unique responses to the exam brief given to them. Your study is tutorial led. Group discussion will help you develop your own abilities to look critically at your work and the work of others.
