The Programme
This programme offers a broad introduction to business related topics with opportunities to explore more specialist areas such as law, retailing and administration.
The Programme Content
Consisting of 100% coursework, learners cover nine units in year one and a further nine in year two. The programme assumes that learners have no pre-existing business knowledge and begins with introductory units covering the core areas of the business environment, business resources and communications, marketing, business accounting and human resource management. Building on this key foundation, learners are encouraged to explore more specialised areas such as creative product promotion, understanding retailing, business ethics, administration routes and business law.
Entry Requirements
Five GCSEs at grade C or above. A Merit grade from a Level 2 qualification is also acceptable.

Progression
The Extended Diploma in Business provides you with the knowledge, skills and attitudes that will be required in a variety of business occupations. Some students progress to further study at university, others enter the world of banking, retail management, accountancy training, administration and marketing occupations.
Length of Study
Two years.

This course starts in the 2012 / 2013 academic year.
