Forensic Science BTEC Extended Diploma - Tiverton

The Programme
This course offers students an intriguing mix of both science and social science, focusing on the varied work carried out by forensic scientists. This will enable you to gain both a theoretical and practical feel for this fascinating and progressive field of study.
The Programme Content
Where possible, students are offered practical exercises to put their theory into practice. The content is diverse covering aspects of psychology, law, photography and ICT as well as physics, chemistry and biology.
Entry Requirements
Five GCSEs at grade C or above, including Science, Maths and English.
Costs
There will be field trips organised which cost approximately £5 each*.

Tiverton Campus
Progression
On completion of the course, you could seek employment immediately (e.g.as a trainee in a forensic laboratory) or progress to higher education to read for a number of higher national diplomas or degrees including forensic science, criminal psychology, criminology and other science related courses.
Length of Study
Two years.
Academic Year
This course starts in the 2012 / 2013 academic year.
