The Programme
This course focuses on the development of knowledge, understanding and practical skills necessary for employment in the public services, providing career development and offering progression to higher education or further training in the public services sector.
The Programme Content
The course covers areas such as Government policies and the public services, leadership and teamwork, citizenship, diversity and the public services, understanding discipline, physical testing and training for the uniformed public services, physical preparation and health.
Entry Requirements
Five GCSEs at grade C or above or a BTEC Level 2 Diploma in a related subject. Appropriate work experience and/or other related Level 2 qualifications.
Costs
Costs will also be applicable for an annual residential, transport for trips/outdoor activities and clothing. These will be discussed at the interview*.

Tiverton Campus
Progression
On completion of this course students often progress to university, go into the Royal Navy, Royal Marines, Royal Air Force, Army or one of the emergency services.
Length of Study
One year (subsidiary), two years (extended).
Academic Year
This course starts in the 2012 / 2013 academic year.
