The Programme

This course has been designed for any student who aspires to gain a career in the fast and dynamic world of tourism. Developing air cabin crew skills is part of the programme and students will experience the world of air cabin crew through practical air cabin crew assessments at Petroc.

The Programme Content

The course includes units in event management; cruise sector; overseas holiday representatives; customer service and developing fun activities for children. Work experience forms part of the programme and is an assessed unit. In the second year, students will be given the opportunity to design their own European experience by planning and going on an overseas residential.

Entry Requirements

Five GCSEs at grade C or above including English, or merit grade in a Level 2 Diploma.

Costs

Compulsory educational day visits and residential; one of which will be a study visit abroad. Over the two year period the costs will be approximately £500*.

Progression

Successful completion gives the opportunity to study for a Foundation Degree in Events Management at Petroc or apply to other universities to study an Honours Degree in a related subject. Students may progress to careers in a wide range of jobs in the industry including cabin crew, marketing, tourist boards, visitor attraction management, event planning, cruise ships and holiday representatives.

Two years.
