Apprenticeship in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (Light Vehicle)

The programme consists of theory and practical related subjects, taught on a day release basis. During the programme learners will complete a technical certificate, key skills and an NVQ in the workplace at the relevant level. On completion of Advanced Apprenticeship, qualifying learners can go onto undertake the Automotive Technician Accreditation (ATA). The ATA assessment consists of observed practical tasks, theory questions plus an on-line test at Service Maintenance Technician level.
Entry Requirements
Assessment at interview of students' prior knowledge and experience will determine entry on to the course. Whilst there are no minimum grades for entry, there is an expectation in Industry, due to complex technologies that prospective Apprentices will have good GSCE grades. A qualification in Mathematics, English or ICT at grade D and above would be an advantage. To meet the requirements of an Apprenticeship you will have to be employed in the Motor Vehicle Service and Repair Industry.
Costs
There are no cost for Apprenticeship learning under the age of 19. Apprentices aged 19+ at start of programme will incur a fee that the Employer is expected to pay.

Level 4 Management or Technical Diplomas.
Length of Study
Level 2 Apprenticeship over 2 years. The opportunity to progress to level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship is available subject to interview.
