Apprenticeship in Motor Vehicle
The Programme
The motor vehicle apprenticeship can be completed at two different levels and covers the service and repair of modern vehicles.
The Programme Content
The Level 2 will require you to remove and replace a range of components in the areas of suspension, transmission, engines, electrical, brakes and steering. Evidence from the workplace will go towards a portfolio of evidence. At Level 3 you will be required to diagnose and rectify a range of faults related to light vehicles. This will involve the use of sophisticated diagnostic equipment and repair procedures. Knowledge will be assessed by a technical diploma in both theory and practical subjects and be completed at college.
Entry Requirements
No formal entry requirements however other appropriate prior learning such as the completion of a Level 1 Award in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair would be beneficial.
Costs
You will need to supply overalls and suitable safety footwear.
Progression
Candidate can progress onto an appropriate Level 3 qualification in the Motor Vehicle Industry.
Length of Study
Two years, part time, day release course, work based learning.
