Apprenticeship in Retail

Your Apprenticeship programme is made up of the following components: NVQ Level 2 in Retail Skills; Level 2 Certificate in Retail Operations or Certificate in Retailing; Key Skills in Application of Number at Level 1 and in Communications at Level 1.
The Programme Content
Retail covers a host of businesses from market stalls and independent shops to national chains and large superstores. An Apprentice could be assisting customers on the sales floor of a high street store or working behind the scenes in stock handling, ensuring products are received in the correct quantities and appropriately stored. From organising displays to learning the crucial aspects of management, the skills gained from this Apprenticeship are transferable to all retail companies.
Entry Requirements
You must be employed in order to start this programme and have a good basic education with at least four GCSEs grade E or above. Enthusiasm for your subject and a willingness to work hard are essential.

Progression
Once you have successfully completed the apprenticeship programme, and you are able to demonstrate a significant increase in personal responsibilities in the workplace, you will be able to progress on to the Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship programme.
Length of Study
18 month, some attendance at college.
