The Programme
This qualification is designed to further increase opportunities for individuals who would like to enter the motor industry. The course develops manual skills and the student's knowledge of vehicles gained at Level 2.
The Programme Content
The qualification is made up of three components, practical tasks, online testing and written assignments. Diagnostic skills associated with vehicle maintenance and repair form a substantial part of the content.
Entry Requirements
The requirements are that students have completed the Level 2 Diploma in Vehicle Maintenance. GCSE grade C or above in Maths, English or ICT would be an advantage. Assessment of the students prior knowledge and experience at interview will determine entry onto the course.

You will need to supply overalls and suitable safety footwear*.

Progression
Students who complete this programme can progress to employment within the motor industry. The qualification forms the knowledge component of the apprenticeship framework, and once employed they will be encouraged to complete further qualifications as required.
Length of Study
One year.
Academic Year
This course starts in the 2012 / 2013 academic year.
