Personal Training Diploma -
Course code: FTT071
The Programme
This course is ideal for people who wish to become Personal Trainers and who wish to work towards improving clients well-being, through the provision of a planned personal exercise programme on a regular one to one or small group basis. It is also suitable for mature students who are already working as personal trainers but do not possess a nationally recognised qualification. An approved gym qualification at Level 2 is a pre-requisite for this qualification.
The Programme Content
The course content covers anatomy and physiology, nutrition, programming and delivering personal training and health and safety.
Entry Requirements
For this course you will need to be at least 17 years old and should have a minimum of four GCSEs at grade C or above, including Maths and English (equivalent qualifications and experience will be considered for mature students). The pre-entry requirement is a Level 2 Fitness Instructor. For students who do not have this qualification, there may be an opportunity to study for Gym Instructor whilst on the Personal Trainer course. You must be a regular participant in fitness sessions, especially gym, as the course is aimed at those who have experience in fitness.
Costs
Fees can be obtained on request for those over 19 years old.
Progression
On successful completion of the course you can apply for employment as a Personal Trainer in a leisure centre or health club, start your own business, or undertake further study in areas such as GP Referral or Cardiac Rehabilitation. This course is not suitable for applicants straight from school. The course is a good progression for those who have completed the Level 2 Diploma in Exercise and Fitness course, A Levels, a BTEC National Qualification or mature students looking for a career change or professional development.
