The Programme
Students will be taught basic craft skills to build up an embedded confidence and understanding of the required skills to progress in the furniture industry.
Course will start September 2012 and run for one year.

What is DIPLOMA IN FURNITURE MAKING LEVEL 2?
The course has been designed to allow studying in areas to enable you to become professional in furniture making and this can be broken down into two basic categories: Theory and Underpinning Knowledge, and Practical tasks. Theory and Underpinning Knowledge This is mainly taught in the classroom and will underpin what has been taught in the practical sessions Health and Safety Timber Technology Tool Sharpening and Maintenance Drawing Timber Jointing Carcase Construction Power Tools Carcase Installation Practical sessions Practical sessions will embed what has been discussed and taught in class the students will progress through a series of prepared projects. Starting simply and progressively getting harder, these projects are designed to teach you new woodworking skills and stretch your techniques. Design and produce workshop equipment Make furniture products Hand and power tool usage
