What is CERTIFICATE IN IT LEVEL 3?

This qualification provides candidates with the knowledge and skills to help them develop a broader understanding of all key aspects needed to function in an Information Technology job role.

Are there any entry requirements?

A BTEC Level 2 qualification in IT or related vocational area OR A general education equivalent to four GCSEs at grade A*-C, OR Other related Level 2 qualifications, OR Related work experience. NB: Mature applicants are encouraged to apply who may not meet the above minimum education standards.

How long will it last?

The course will run from either January to July or September to January

Who is the course for?

This qualification is ideal for those who have a genuine interest in Computing. The qualification could be used as part of professional development or as a stepping stone into study at a higher level.

What is the course content?

To achieve this qualification you will need to complete the two mandatory units plus one optional unit.

Mandatory Units:
Communication and Employability Skills for IT
Computer Systems

Optional Unit:
Client Side Customisation of Web Pages

How will it be assessed?

The course is assessed by means of coursework.

What is the progression route?

On successful completion of the Certificate in IT you may want to progress onto the Subsidiary Diploma in IT.
