The Programme
This qualification is aimed at individuals wishing to design and deliver safe and effective group indoor cycling sessions.
To attend this course the individual must hold a Level 2 Fitness Instructor qualification in either Gym or Exercise to Music.
Suitable for students aged 16 and over. Please ring to enquire about any exceptions.
Entry Requirements
A REPs accredited gym or exercise to music instructor qualification is required for acceptance on to this course. Attendance at Indoor Cycling or Spinning classes will be beneficial prior to attendance on the course.

What is AWARD IN GROUP INDOOR CYCLING LEVEL 2 (19+)?
This qualification is aimed at individuals wishing to design and deliver safe and effective group indoor cycling sessions. Indoor Cycling has now a presence in most gyms and health clubs, as clients love the programme due to its ability to burn calories and increase fitness. As an additional qualification to Gym or Exercise to Music Instructor, this qualification should enable you to secure more work.

The course is for Gym or Exercise to Music Instructors who want to increase their skills portfolio and learning opportunities.
What is the course content?
- Planning and teaching safe and effective indoor cycling sessions
- How to plan, teach and evaluate a safe and effective group indoor cycling session
- Appropriate health and safety considerations
- Cycling approaches and techniques
- How to set up a class
- Effective use of music
- Assessment criteria
How will it be assessed?
Assessment is via lesson plans and observed assessment of practical skills. Assessment will be on the last date of the course, on course assessment avoids complicated video submissions; it will also give you a definitive pass or refer at the end of the course as to your success. If you do refer there will be an opportunity to re-sit, there may however be a small cost associated with this.
What are the fees and are there any additional costs?
The cost of the course is £125.00 including CYQ certification, which represents excellent value for a three day course.

FAQ
Q - Do you have to be fit to attend the course? A - The course is quite physically demanding, and you would be more prepared if you had undertaken a few indoor cycling classes prior to the course. Q - Do you need to wear special clothing? A - Padded cycling shorts will make you more comfortable. Cycling shoes are not an essential for the training course but if you have them bring them to wear. Q - Are there any books that I can read prior to the course? A - The Complete Guide to Studio Cycling by Rick Kiddle.
