Not found what you're looking for?
If you can't find what you're looking for, maybe we can help?
What’s in it for me?
Last summer people signed up to; “have fun”, “go away with their friends”, and “get some good experience for my CV”
After completing the project they said; “the residentials were brilliant”, I’ve got loads of new friends now”, “I used to be scared of heights, but now I’ll try anything”
Taking part in myNCS will give your CV that extra boost to help you stand out from the crowd when you’re looking for a job or applying for a place at college or university. It will help you develop the skills you need for the real world that school doesn’t give you.
Here’s some CV extracts from last year’s myNCS participants:
“The programme involved some outdoor physical challenges, which enabled me to improve my team working skills as well as my physical fitness and stamina.” Lizzie, Braunton
“Through planning our social action project and working as a team to implement it, I demonstrated my excellent time keeping, project management, practical and team working skills.” Joe, Barnstaple
“I proved my communication, personal presentation and negotiating skills and used my initiative, as I secured free resources from a range of local and national businesses to help us carry out the project.” Michael, South Molton
“I really enjoyed being able to make a positive contribution to the local community by participating in NCS. It has given me a much better understanding of people from other backgrounds, as it enabled me to mix with people I would never have met otherwise.” Kim, Barnstaple
