Students at Petroc's Barnstaple Campus are celebrating a spectacular set of A Level results today (Thursday August 19) with A* grades in a dozen subjects.
A whopping 158 results scored top marks, with A and A* grades (37 A* and 121 A).
In Chemistry, ten teenagers achieved the new A*, which is designed to reward the country's most able students.
Among them was Juliet Baby, 18, who achieved a further three A*s in Physics, Biology and Maths, together with an A for AS Level Further Maths.
"My parents were always confident that I'd get A*s and I'm so excited because I worked really hard for it," said Juliet.
"I'm going to Birmingham to study medicine and I know it's going to be hard but now I know I can do it."
Alex Poulson, 18, got A*s for Graphic Design and Art & Design, alongside an A in English Literature & Language.
"I'm really overwhelmed," she said. "College was such a new experience - it's such a big change from school.
"Petroc really opened my mind and prepared me for the working world."
Students also achieved A* grades in Psychology, History, English, French, Further Math and Geography.
Almost all the College's Geography and Art & Design students achieved grades A to C, while 20 A Levels scored a 100% pass rate (A-E).
Overall, Petroc Barnstaple's pass rate of 97.48% was in line with the national average.
"This is another great year of results and I'd like to congratulate all our students on their success," said Petroc's Director for Curriculum and Innovation, Huw Davies.
"In particular, it looks like we have a very high number of A* and A grades, which is a reflection of some real hard graft, determination and talent.
"I'd like to thank our staff for the boundless energy they put in every year and also the students' families and friends, without whom none of these extraordinary achievements would be possible."
College staff are available to advise students on their options, post A Level. For more information, call 01271 338125.
Petroc is also holding an advice, guidance and support event for school pupils who get their GCSE results next Tuesday (August 24).
The Barnstaple Campus's Guidance Centre is open on Wednesday August 25 from 10am to 3pm, to help prospective students decide what to do next.
