Local businesses get on board to offer advice and guidance
Petroc is holding an Advice and Guidance Event on Wednesday 16 March, 3.30-7.30pm, at which visitors will be able to get advice and guidance from Petroc’s lecturing staff as well as a number of local employers who will be on hand to talk about opportunities in their industry.
The event, which is being held at the College’s brand new Brannams Campus on Roundswell Business Park in Barnstaple, will enable visitors to find out about a huge range of options; from Full and Part Time courses to Apprenticeships and Foundation Degrees.
The College have a range of local employers exhibiting who will be able to offer advice on their particular industry; from the jobs within that area to the qualifications & skills needed to succeed in that industry.

“We have enlisted the help of some key local employers who will be able to offer an invaluable insight into their particular industry,” said Huw Davies Director of Curriculum and Innovation.
“We want the event to give visitors - whatever their age - the opportunity to explore different training and career options that they may not have previously considered.”
In response to the 101 Apprentices Campaign, which Petroc has been heavily involved in, Petroc staff and careers advisors will be available to talk about the many benefits of Apprenticeship training. Apprenticeships enable learners to combine work with training so they essential earn a wage and continue learning and developing skills.
There will also be campus tours, demonstrations in various construction disciplines and an exhibition by British abstract artist, Patrick Jones.
