Double celebrations for Babcock Marine
Babcock Marine employees had two reasons to celebrate recently; with both Apprentices and team leaders successfully completing training programmes with Petroc.
The team leaders presented the Apprentices with their blue hard hats which are symbolic of the fact that their Apprenticeship is complete and they can now work independently.
“It is a real pleasure to see our Apprentices make the great step from yellow to blue hat which is a sign of the faith we have in them,” said Shipyard Director, Andy Hamilton.
“The team leaders qualifying at the same time was not a coincidence. We aim to prepare all our staff for the challenges they will face in the future, but ultimately these are both signs of the confidence Babcock have in the future of shipbuilding.”
Petroc has been working in partnership with Babcock for a number of years on a range of training initiatives. The presentation of hard hats was a proud moment for everyone involved.
