Vocational Skills Open Day at Tiverton Campus

Date: 8th June 2011

Petroc’s Tiverton Campus is giving everyone the chance to have a go at a whole range of activities on Saturday June 18.

The College’s Vocational Skills Day will showcase career-focused subjects, such as construction, hairdressing and catering.

It is also the launch of a host of new Apprenticeship frameworks now available to students from Tiverton and the surrounding area, including beauty, care and motorcycle service and repair.

And visitors can enjoy all kinds of new experiences, from trying new skills such as bricklaying, to having the dead skin nibbled from their feet in the beauty salon or relaxing with fresh strawberries and cream teas.

As well as giving teenagers the high quality skills they need to begin successful careers and helping adults change jobs, many of Petroc’s courses provide opportunities for upskilling and professional development.

Businesses from all over the area have been invited to take part in master classes and specialist companies will present modern methods of working and emerging technologies.

Petroc’s Vocational Skills Day is at the Bolham Road Campus in Tiverton, from 10am to 2pm on Saturday June 18.
