Christmas art and craft events at Petroc’s Brannams Campus
Petroc’s Brannams Campus in Barnstaple will be open for a festive day of arts, crafts, music and comedy on Saturday December 10, 2011.
Events begin with an Arts and Crafts Fair, open to the public from 11am to 4pm. Admission is free.
Tables are available to sellers of their own art and craft products at £15 each.
The fair is running alongside the Life exhibition in the Goodwin Gallery and a Christmas Grotto.
The grotto, is being built by theatre students and will be the focal point of a National Childbirth Trust (NCT) charity event.
It will have storytellers, withy sculptures of reindeer, charity stalls and a separate child sensory room extending the magical experience for young visitors. A small admission fee will go to the NCT.
In addition to these special events, there will also be an opportunity to see the college’s facilities and find out about courses held at the campus, during the day.
In the evening, Petroc’s music venue, The Factory (also at Brannams) is hosting a music event with headliner, Laid Blak – a band with dance/jungle influences who have just won the European Reggae Awards and are currently on tour with Ed Sheeran, of A Team fame.
Special Guests will be Gypsy Unit – a ‘GypHop’ band with a gypsy dance vibe in a Gogol Bordello style.
Last, but definitely not least, Petroc’s very own Dick Narnia (aka Richard Narbett) from the Foundation Degree in Music Performance will be performing his unique blend of acoustic comedy.
Doors open at 8pm. Tickets are £5 each and are available on the door, from all Black Hole Promotion gigs and from Solo Music and Beats Workin’ in Barnstaple.
