Win a break on Exmoor in Petroc’s charity auction for Devon Air Ambulance
Petroc travel and tourism students have organised a silent auction to raise money for Devon Air Ambulance Trust.
And they have managed to secure an off-peak, three night stay for up to four people at Little Quarme Cottages, on Exmoor.
“We are so lucky to have our excellent prize, donated by Mai Cudmore, and could not have don’t it without her generosity or support,” said Petroc student, Kat Petherick.
Little Quarme is a family-run collection of self-catering holiday cottages located in 18 acres of secluded gardens. It’s a perfect base for walking and cycling holidays with an outdoor play area; friendly for families and also pets.
The silent auction works by emailing: silentauction@petroc.ac.uk with your bid amount, contact name, phone number and email address.
There is a hidden reserve for the short break and bids that do not meet the reserve will not be accepted.
The successful bidder will need to make payment by cash or cheque by December 19 and all proceeds go to the Devon Air Ambulance Service.
“It’s fantastic to see the students so passionate and enthusiastic about raising money for such a great local charity,” said travel and tourism events lecturer, Clare Chapple.
“We are all really looking forward to seeing the bids come in.”
Petroc student, Alice Payne added: “After speaking to Chris Sherry from Devon Air Ambulance it makes our event more meaningful knowing what our proceeds are going towards.”
Deadline for bids is 6pm on Monday December 12, 2011 and the successful bidder will be contacted and announced publically at a charity event, which the students are organising.
Acoustic Winter Wonderland is being held at Boston Tea Party in Barnstaple, on Friday December 16, from 8pm.
It’s an evening of acoustic local music, festive food and jolly surprises that will brighten up your Christmas. The entry fee is £3 and all proceeds go to Devon Air Ambulance Trust.
