Students and businesses say Petroc is the best college in Devon

New figures released by the Government, this week, put Petroc top of the class for Devon’s students and businesses.

The College, which has its main campuses in Barnstaple and Tiverton, has the highest success rates in the whole of the county for getting people into work and improving their career prospects.

And Petroc is rated the most enjoyable place for school leavers to study in the Devon County Council area.

The new statistics have been released online by the Skills Funding Agency as part of ‘FE Choices’

The data is aimed at helping people choose where to learn or train.

Petroc is rated highest in the following categories for all of Devon:

  • The percentage of learners who in 2009/10 experienced employment/learning benefits after completing their course (83%)
  • The percentage of learners who found work, got a better job or improved their prospects in 2009/10 (53%)

Petroc is rated highest in Devon (excluding Plymouth and Torbay):

  • How learners rated this organisation during 2010/11 (7.9 out of 10)
