Record breaking A Level results at Petroc

Staff and students at Petroc are celebrating record breaking A Level results today.

In Tiverton, all students passed their exams, giving the College a phenomenal 100% pass rate for A Levels.

Barnstaple’s overall pass rate is also well above the national average, at 99.4%, and more than half of grades achieved at A Level were A*-B.

Keith Devine, Head of the School of Humanities and Science, said: “We are delighted that our students have once again produced record results, particularly as national results have remained fairly static at 97.8%.

“The fact that almost a quarter of our grades in Barnstaple were A* or A is a fantastic achievement.

“Over both campuses, 50 out of 52 subjects achieved 100% pass rates which is incredible,” he added.

Pené Prior, Petroc’s Director for Quality and Performance, celebrated with students in Tiverton and said: “We are all delighted with our students who have worked so hard all year and have done extremely well.

“The 100% pass rate is an excellent result for the Tiverton Campus.

“This is also testimony to all of our local schools for their efforts.”

These results mean that, once again, a high number of Petroc’s students have gained places at Oxbridge and other leading universities in the country.

This reinforces Petroc’s recent Ofsted report, where all A Levels inspected were judged as outstanding.
