Qualification Guide
An Apprenticeship can lead onto higher achievement and further studies which open up more career opportunities.
Petroc offers Higher Education (Level 4) opportunities in a range of subjects for students with a Level 3 qualification. Our degree courses are run in partnership with the University of Plymouth. See our Higher Education area for more information or call 01271 338100.
Qualification levels
The qualification levels and what they are equivalent to:
- NVQ LEVEL 1
Equivalent to five or more GCSEs at grade E or above - NVQ LEVEL 2
BTEC FIRST DIPLOMA LEVEL 2
FOUNDATION APPRENTICESHIP
Equivalent to five or more GCSEs at grade C or above - NVQ LEVEL 3 BTEC NATIONAL DIPLOMA
ADVANCED APPRENTICESHIP
Equivalent to three A Levels - NVQ LEVEL 4
Equivalent to a Foundation Degree
