Apprenticeships

We understand that your business needs a workforce with up-to-date skills which are specific to your industry. An Apprentice could be the answer.

If you take on a new Apprentice they will develop skills that reflect your specific business objectives, In addition, if you identify existing staff for an Adult Apprenticeship, where the trainee must be aged 19 or over, they will further develop their existing workplace skills.

An employee with the right skills and motivation is invaluable to your business.

We can offer support throughout the stages of the Apprenticeship, working with you to successfully train your staff. We will advise you and ensure you are fully informed about issues surrounding the Apprenticeship scheme.

You will reap the rewards as your Apprentice makes a real contribution to your business. You could see tangible benefits such as motivated staff, increased competitiveness, higher productivity and reduced costs.

An Advanced Apprenticeship is offered in many of the above Apprenticeships which will develop the Apprentices’ skills to a Level 3.

Whatever your business skill needs we can help you find the best solution.

An Apprenticeship usually takes between six months and three years. This depends on the experience of the trainee, the occupational area undertaken and the requirements of your business.

To achieve an Advanced Apprenticeship, which takes the Apprentice’s skills and knowledge from Level 2 to Level 3, takes between 12 months and four years. We will discuss the projected time span of the training with you at the start of the programme.

How it works

The Apprenticeship framework is made up of a work based qualification, which is achieved through the assessment of practical tasks in the workplace, and a further qualification which is achieved either at college or in the workplace.

If the training takes place in college it is delivered in one of our specialist training centres by qualified tutors and experienced practitioners. The Apprentice attends college on a day or block release basis depending on the occupational area. This means that they either attend one day a week during term time or in blocks of one or more weeks at a time.

Both in college and in the workplace the trainee learns in a practical environment where they are guided and encouraged. As such, they have a rounded understanding of the skills they are putting into practice.

By providing the trainee with the opportunity and tools to develop they are able to reach their full potential within your workforce. We can help you to identify suitable Apprentices, carry out initial assessments & candidate interviews and liaise with college tutors to identify any additional learning support.
