Studying at Petroc
What makes us different?
We have a small but very friendly Higher Education (HE) community at Petroc and because of this we quickly know all of our students by name. We have smaller class sizes meaning that we can offer very individual personal attention to each student compared with larger colleges or universities and you can easily arrange to see your tutor if you have a problem.
There is a relaxed and friendly atmosphere for both students and staff that is flexible and supportive. We always offer the opportunity for an interview so you can visit the College, discuss your choice of course and raise any concerns you may have before you make up your mind.
Choosing the right course in the right place is an important decision. If you live outside North Devon please get in contact to arrange a visit so you can see what the College and surrounding area can offer you. We are proud of our quality, specialist provision, personal care and support for students. Tutor contact is essential to our teaching practice. Rest assured, if you have a problem, there will be plenty of people to turn to for help and guidance. Our tutor-to-student ratio is particularly high by undergraduate standards.
Equal opportunities, Student Support and Supported Learning
At Petroc we believe in and promote equal opportunities and encourage applications from all backgrounds regardless of race, colour, ethnic origin, gender, nationality, belief, marital status, age, mental or physical disability or sexual orientation.
We have trained professionals offering advice with fees, grants, childcare, transport and counselling. Applications are considered on academic grounds, so please let us know if you have a medical condition, disability or dyslexia so that the appropriate support can be put in place. If you have a disability or specific learning difficulty you may be eligible for the Disabled Students Allowance.
