Do! Programme
Hello! I am the Barnstaple site FESCo (Further Education Sports Co-ordinator) and I co-ordinate the DO! Programme. My role involves increasing student participation in sport and physical activity. I am based in the sports office (above the sports hall) but my role is aimed at engaging students across the whole campus, particularly those who do not participate regularly in physical activity.
It is recommended that we should be doing at least 30 minutes physical activity 5 days a week. So, if you are interested in including some physical activity into your college day read on for more details.

The DO! Programme is divided into 3 main aspects:
DO! Activity - a recreational sport and physical activity programme which provides opportunities for students to participate in sport and physical activity at lunchtimes, after college and on Wednesday afternoons. The activities range from aerobics to climbing and table tennis to ultimate frisbee. All students are welcome and encouraged to attend.
DO! Volunteer - a sport volunteer programme which provides opportunities for students to gain experience and learn skills through volunteering in sport and physical activity. Volunteering can take place both within college and in the community.
DO! Competition - a programme of inter college (competitions between colleges) and intra college (competitions between courses and groups in college) which provides opportunities for students to compete in various sports against other colleges and against other groups in college. Examples include 5 aside tournaments and mixed netball tournaments.
