FAQs  

The course content covers legislation and Health and Safety as well as the actual inspection and testing processes.
Assessment takes the form of a 1 hour 45 minute online 50 question multi choice exam. Candidates have access to the IET Code of Practice for In-service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment 4th Edition (ISBN 978-1-84919-626-0) during the exam. There is also a practical assessment to demonstrate ability to test and inspect an item of Class 1 AND Class 2 equipment and correctly complete the specified paperwork.
No formal entry requirements, although this course is designed for candidates who are familiar with electrical systems and hazards of electricity. Without evidence of formal qualifications candidates should be able to demonstrate adequate prior knowledge and experience to ensure they have the potential to succeed.
Ability to carry out PAT testing, improve employment possibilities.
Dedicated Electrical classroom with Smartboard. Range of PAT testers available during course.

Q. Do you have to be a qualified Electrician to do the course or carry out PAT testing?
A. No, but should be competent and have knowledge of electrical hazards.
